Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

If you are going to dive in the Rivera Maya in the beautiful Caribbean reefs, you must come to Playa del Carmen, Rivera Maya. It's only a 35 minute ferry ride from Cozumel and 40-45 minutes from Cancun, Tulum, Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos and Akumal. You will not forget this experience in your lifetime. Diving in Playa del Carmen has beautiful ocean reefs and caverns/cenotes as well.
For our stay we have chosen the Hotel Tukan. This hotel has 133 spacious guest rooms in one main complex and two annexes revealing impressive views of the hotel's lush tropical gardens. You may check out the rooms at Tukan Hotels. It is a 3 star hotel with A/C, TV and a pool conveniently located on 5th Avenue (main pedestrian walkway) only 2 blocks from the dive center and 1 1/2 blocks from the ocean. They also have a beach club on the nicest part of the beach. You get there by the hourly shuttle or a 15 minute walk.
The Tank-Ha Dive Center has put together a great package for us. Below is a breakdown of the charges for our group:



These prices include the breakfast buffet and airport transfers. If anyone is interested in an all-inclusive meal plan, we can get those prices, too.
The Dive Center will store our equipment so there is no need to bring anything back to the room.
We have scheduled 3 days of 2-tank ocean diving; 1 day of 2-tank Cenote/cavern diving and 1 day of 2-tank Cozumel direct rip. This includes tank, weights, entrance fees, dive light for Cenotes, soft drinks and sandwiches for Cenotes, and all taxes. If you need to rent all equipment, the cost is $15 per day.
Each person can send their own credit card information to the Tank Ha Dive Center. To hold a reservation, they will need your credit card information (company, cardholders name, card number and expiration date). They accept Visa and MasterCard. They have a secure link: Tank Ha Dive Center They will charge 30% of the total price on the card when the reservation is made, and the balance can be paid upon arrival in cash, Travelers Checks or credit card. When making your reservation online, be sure to say in the Comments/Questions area that you are with Scuba Friends and indicate who you will be rooming with. If cancellation occurs more than 15 days before your planned arrival, they will refund the amount charged less a $50 cancellation fee. If cancellation occurs during the 15 days before arrival, there is no refund.
Airfare from MCI to Cancun on Continental is about $378 and on American $466. These amounts include taxes.
